The ISVs and OIA organised a trip to Jeonju on November 16 and 17, 2024. There were 29 exchange students that joined the trip. On November 16 (Saturday), we departed from Konkuk University at 9AM. We faced traffic but it gave us time to catch up on some sleep before we made it to the rest stop. At the rest stop, everyone had the chance to look around and have lunch before we continued our journey. On our way to Jeonju after lunch, we had karaoke on the bus. We heard some lovely singing from our ISVs, Mr Hyun, and a few students. The first stop when we reached Jeonju was the Hanok Village. There were many hanbok rental stores, restaurants, games and more to look around. Also, there was a shrine and a Royal Portrait Museum that was historically educational and interactive. After spending almost three hours at the Hanok Village, we headed to dinner before checking in at the hotel. Due to terrible weather, we postponed the trip to the lake. On November 17 (Sunday), students had the chance to eat breakfast at the hotel buffet before we began the activities. The first activity was the rail bike. It was a nice exercise to start the day and everyone enjoyed watching the autumn leaves as we rode the bikes. We got through the rail bike course quicker than expected, so we decided to go to a cafe by the lake (the one we couldn’t go to the night before). The cafe was on top of a hill, it was designed like a hanok house, and it had an amazing view of the lake. Afterwards, we headed back to the Hanok village for the bibimbap making class. Students enjoyed making their own bibimbap and learning about the history of the food. We were taught the significance of the colours used in the bibimbap, how to prepare the ingredients, and where to place the ingredients in the bowl. Before we headed back to Seoul, we finished the Jeonju trip with a visit to the Jeonju National Museum. Students got to explore the museum at their own pace and learn about the history of Jeonju. |
